I have not written in a long time. Mainly because there seems to be so much to do at every turn. twentysix has grown and is growing stronger with each day that passes. We see new faces and forge new relationships every day with new customers. It has been quite a journey. We have seen marriages, births, friends and family reunions, triumphs and successes go through our doors in the past two years or so... but we have also seen a fair few tragic events in our customers' lives...the passing on of a loved one, the battle of a terminal illness, separation and heartbreak. Through all this, we have strived to remain a constant for them...ready with a cup of coffee, a warm, freshly baked pain au raisin or brownie and a sympathetic ear and a smile. When I first took on this venture, I saw it as a way of practising my skills and showcasing my craft - cooking, baking and entertaining appreciative customers. Little did I know that, in opening twentysix, I had given life to a living...
