The birth of twentysix
And so it has begun...
After almost a year of searching for the right project, the right concept and the right venue, we had made an offer on the 'Goose.'
And after more than two months of planning, we finally have the keys to our very own cafe. A day before completion, I got cold feet...shouted at my fiance, growled at my teenage boy and snapped at my younger son. I felt so much pressure because it was my first venture in England. I was thinking of all the what-ifs and what-nots, not to mention the thought that I was stuck with this place...for good...well almost...It was like being a skittish bride-to-be or groom-to-be the night before the wedding.
True, it is my first venture in England...it is also my first venture inspired by the people I love the most...Richard and my two boys, Riel and Enzo. I would never have had the courage to do this if it were not for them. I see this as the culmination of everything that we have been through...like the fulfillment of a dream. The three most precious people in my life are the ones who give me the strength and the inspiration to be the best I can be. This is for them.
And for all the friends who have stood by me during the roughest times of my life...

Hi Den! Its fantastic you have 3 great people who inspire you. But dont forget the 1 other important person you should be doing this for: yourself! Congratulations and may you have many years of happiness, satisfaction and profits! Cant wait to see you and 26!

ReplyDeleteWe've just been talking to builders, electricians, planning etc and the capital expenditure is ballooning like anything. It is very scary but we feel that we have to do this right from the start for it to take off properly...and possibly take on another venture. The pressure's on me though to get it all back...and more!
